HUGE congratulations to @maryammasterauthor for winning the Readings Children’s Prize today. It was an absolute honour to be nominated alongside her and all of the other amazing authors on the shortlist this year. I’ve been friends with the amazing @laramerrett

I’ve been friends with the amazing @laramerrett since we worked together in the Sydney office of Christie’s. She posted this photo today which was dug up by @neesyoz our coworker and friend who used to terrify us with her Swiss efficiency. These days Lara is an award winning artist and I am so proud of her achievements. She also remains the only person I know to bring her dog to a job interview. I knew right then I was going to like her. ❤️

My home town is Melbourne so Readings Bookstore and I go waaaay back. I used to lurk among the shelves of the Carlton store when I was a student at Melbourne University, I had my first ever book launch at Readings St Kilda twenty (GAH!) years ago (scroll along for an ancient pic of me at that launch. Yes, I was wearing a pink tiara. Yes, I still have it.) and The Wintrish Girl was launched at Readings Kids last year. So to have my debut novel for children shortlisted for the Readings’ Children’s Prize means so very much to me. THANK YOU @readingsbooks @readingskids 💜 Huge congratulations to the other brilliant authors shortlisted: @maryammasterauthor @neridah.mcm.author @becksmuse @amelia_r_mellor @ashharrierbooks It is utterly incredible to have my book alongside all of yours on this list. 💪🏽🎉 To @taracpwynne @clair_hume @uqpbooks … I’m running out of ways to thank you for what you’ve done for this book.
